The Contract Maintenance Technician will perform maintenance and repair services on an as-needed basis. This independent contractor role requires a skilled professional capable of handling a wide range of facility maintenance tasks efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs (windows, doors, walls, etc.)
- Repair plumbing issues such as leaks, clogs, and fixtures
- Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical issues
- Maintain HVAC systems to ensure proper operation
- Identify and resolve safety hazards
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks
- Paint and maintain facility appearance as needed
- Assist with groundskeeping and outdoor maintenance
- Complete additional tasks as requested
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Demonstrated experience in maintenance, facilities, or related field
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Reliable transportation and necessary tools/equipment preferred
- Ability to perform physically active work
Contract Requirements:
- Must operate as an independent contractor and not as an employee of Hendrick Home for Children
- Responsible for own taxes, insurance, and required licensing (if applicable)
- Must provide proof of liability insurance upon request
Pre-Engagement Requirements:
All selected contractors must successfully complete a screening process prior to engagement. This includes, but is not limited to, a drug screening, criminal background check, physical examination, tuberculosis (TB) test, and verification of professional references.
